Four to five generations now practice side by side, and the evidence shows they differ in what they expect from work, from their leaders, and from their organizations. This session synthesizes literature on the intergenerational nursing workforce to separate durable generational patterns from life-stage effects and stereotype-driven assumptions. Participants will examine generational differences in engagement, turnover, burnout, and job satisfaction, and leave with specific practice-environment strategies, such as tailored working conditions, reverse mentoring, collaborative governance, and feedback cadences that hold across cohorts.

Objectives:
At the completion of the webinar, the learner will be able to:
- Describe the work attitudes, communication preferences, and leadership expectations of the five generational cohorts currently in the nursing workforce and the worldview that shapes them.
- Assess whether differences in nurses' expectations reflect generational difference, life-stage need, or age-based assumption, and respond accordingly.
- Analyze how generational cohorts relate to engagement, turnover intention, burnout, and job satisfaction in their own unit or organization.
- Select at least two evidence-based practice-environment strategies to implement in their setting.
