Tipton Health—the nation’s premier nursing consultancy—is pleased to announce the promotion of Mary Del Guidice, MSN, BS, RN, to vice president and chief nursing officer. Del Giudice directs Tipton Health’s rapidly growing nursing excellence consulting service, which is modernizing and advancing nursing practice for many of the nation’s leading hospitals and health systems.

In her expanded role, Del Giudice will oversee the strategic direction and operational quality for nursing excellence consulting for Tipton Health. She reports to Dan Tipton, Tipton Health president and chief executive officer.

“Mary’s relentless advocacy for nursing, her thoughtful leadership and deep caring, and her unmatched energy and drive have helped countless nursing teams produce better patient outcomes,” Tipton says. “She is not only an innovative strategist—Mary understands what it takes to implement change and demonstrate the value of the efforts. She exemplifies who we are and where we are going as a company.”

Del Giudice was named as the company’s first-ever chief nursing officer in 2021. Through Del Giudice’s leadership, Tipton Health has worked with nurse leaders to build cultures of excellence, increase nurse manager retention, improve nurse satisfaction, create better nursing work environments, develop engaged nursing teams and achieve nursing excellence designations, such as the American Nursing Credentialing Center’s Magnet® and Pathway to Excellence® designations.

Del Guidice has enjoyed a stellar three-decade nursing career where she has led teams to Magnet® designations, improved nursing programs, enhanced patient care and improved clinical outcomes. As a healthcare executive, she served in senior leadership roles at renowned hospitals and health systems around the country, including Penn Medicine, Bon Secours Health System, Lehigh Valley Health Network and Hackensack University Medical Center.

In her previous role as a senior fellow at the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research, University of Pennsylvania, Del Giudice served as a lead consultant on the Magnet4Europe initiative—a project designed to improve the mental health and wellbeing of European healthcare professionals, as well as transform the clinical work environment of European hospitals by implementing the evidence-based Magnet® model.
