Tipton Health celebrated national Nurses Month by extending a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible nurses with whom we are so privileged to work. Your expertise, tenacity, and willingness to go above and beyond to provide the best care possible inspires us to keep growing as well! We hope you had a great month full of recognition for all of your outstanding work so far!

We also shared some information about the nurses working at Tipton Health, including their reasons for becoming nurses in the first place. We hope this will connect with you and inspire our future work together.

Elizabeth Abrahams, MSN, RN, CPHQ, director, Nursing Excellence Validation and Client Experience, shares her reason for becoming a nurse: “I became a nurse because I wanted to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives during their most vulnerable moments. Nursing allows me to combine compassion, critical thinking, and advocacy to care for others.”

Cheryl Christ, DNP, MS, CPNP-PC, nursing excellence validation manager, Nursing Excellence Validation Team (NEVT), states “I became a pediatric nurse practitioner to enhance child well-being by empowering families through education, advocacy, and family-centered care.”

Katie Farrell, EdD, MSN, CSSGB, RN, nursing excellence consultant, Tipton Health, writes “Since a young age, I always felt a desire to help others, and that passion is what led me to nursing. Every day, even with the smallest interactions, nurses have the opportunity to make a meaningful connection and impact with their patients. We provide comfort and support during some of life’s most difficult moments.”

Pam Power, DNP, RN, ACNS-BC, CENP, associate chief nursing officer and director of innovation, research, and learning, Tipton Health, shares “I became a nurse because I knew that it was a profession that would allow me to give back in a meaningful way. I knew that it would allow me to leave the world a little better than I found it, even in a small way. While that is true of many professions, none called me like nursing.”

Tracy Miller, MHA, BSN, RN, NE-BC, executive nursing excellence consultant, Tipton Health, shares “I became a nurse because I loved to learn how the human body worked; I was eager to help others learn about overall health. As I moved into a leadership role, I found that mentoring nurses to be the best they could be was such a passion and joy. There is something special in the impact one can have on others.”

Our nurses all shared a theme of wanting to make a positive difference in the lives of others. We hope this helps remind you of why you became nurses and provide exceptional care for your patients each day.
